October 2005

Well, went to Jason’s and played, and got beat bad. Finished 9th out of 10, just couldn’t catch any cards.

Then, after making plans to play a short handed Omaha game, everyone decides to back out. Shit, I wouldn’t have wasted my time sitting around over there if I had known that we weren’t going to play another game.

So came back home, and played another $6+.50 Turbo SnG. What follows is what I think the best hand was:

MP1 has T J (two pair, queens and tens).

Outcome: Hero wins t2070.

Oh, and I ended up winning it, making a whole $2 for the night.  Woot!

Well, managed to finish 3rd in another SnG tonight. Made $5, not too bad for just sitting around the house. Cards were cold though…I only had 2 decent starting hands. Ended up going all in with a A8.  Luckily, I flopped 2 more A’s, and I doubled up.  From there, just played a tight/agressive game until the end.  Oh well, it’s better than going out and blowing money, I guess.

Well, this weekend should be interesting.  Having a live tournament over at my buddy’s house, there should be 10 of us, with a $20 buy-in; winner gets about $100.  After that’s done, we’re doing a small ($5) Omaha hi tournament, that’s gonna be winner take all.  Plus, I have the PokerStars Blogger tournament at the same time.  So, I get to bring my laptop, and play int eh PokerStars tournament while I play the live one.  Should be a lot of fun.

So, played my first SnG since I got this thing, figured I’d do the (somewhat) logical thing and post how I did.

I’m the Hero in this, and I used this to make it to 3rd place, and winning $10. Hoorj for me!

Thanks, Carrie for the invite here. I’ll use this as a place to post my bitchings, and gloatings, of my poker playing.

A bit of a backstory, though. Started with a $100 bankroll, split between Paradise Poker and Full Tilt Poker. Managed to get it up to about $150, then moved over to Pokerstars. Well, I’ve about busted on Full Tilt and Paradise, but I’ve got about $70 in my Pokerstars account. I mostly play $6 + .50 SnGs, or $5 + .50 MTTs.
